This competition is open for citizens of all the countries aged 18 years or above, unless prohibited by law of the native country/state.
Participating teams should satisfy the following criterion:
a. The team should have at least one member and the maximum strength should not exceed 4 members.
b.
The team should have at least one student participant from a recognized university/college.
c. Non-student individuals can also participate in the competition provided they haven’t registered their company before 1 January 2009.
In case of teams having more than one member, EDC shall stay in touch only with one member of the team throughout the tenure of the event.
Teams can submit more than one executive summaries, none however, should have won any prizes in any other previous events organized by EDC since 2006.
Requests for revaluation of executive summaries and extension of deadlines shall not be entertained.
Entries not adhering to the theme of Samadhan 2009 shall not proceed to next levels.
Contesting teams should possess intellectual rights of the plan they are submitting. In case, the team does not possess such rights, they should mail the declaration of consent of use of ideas signed by the legal owner of the plan.
In case the idea is found to be violating copyrights or intellectual rights of other individual/teams/organization or infringement of any other kind, it shall be immediately disqualified from the competition.
EDC and associated partners including judges of the event reserves the right to validate the authenticity of the plan which requires the participants to provide relevant documents establishing their possession over the intellectual rights, patents, trademarks, copyrights etc and failing to do so may lead to cancellation of their entry

Judges will have the final authority on judging the B-plans/executive summaries. Decisions taken by them/EDC will be final in this regard.
For the final presentations, teams from India need to be present during the event in IIT Roorkee. Teams participating from other countries can request presentations through teleconferencing but EDC will take a final decision regarding the same.
Entrants hereby irrevocably grant the right to EDC to publicize, record, exhibit or distribute their name/name of their companies now or in any given time in future without any approval or inspection. The companies, shall also oblige by mentioning name of EDC IIT Roorkee or it’s logo on its website or other relevant material/location etc.
It is the responsibility of the participants to ensure that entries submitted by them contains all the content including copyrights, media files, trademarks and patents complying with the existing nature of law and their use shall not be objectionable under concerning laws.
Entrants shall not hold EDC or IIT Roorkee responsible from and against any kind of liability, claims, loss, damage, injury or expense arising in connection with any third-party action or allegation, which if true constitute a breach. Entrants hereby acknowledge and agree that EDC IIT Roorkee, IIT Roorkee and all associated parties including sponsors, mentors and judges shall not oblige in any kind of dispute arising with respect of Entrant’s submission.
EDC reserves the right to substitute the prize money with awards of equal or greater value. It also reserves the right to modify the prize structure or scrap it altogether if some unforeseen circumstances arise.
Only 33% of the cash prize shall be awarded to the winning team if they have not registered their company. They can, however, demand remaining amount by producing required documents establishing the proof of commencement and registration of their corporation/partnership/ proprietorship.
The prize shall be awarded to the team leader only in form of cheque/DD.
Winners are responsible for paying any kind of tax, local or state, arising out of prizes distributed by EDC IIT Roorkee.
Any conflict or dispute is subject to jurisdiction of courts of Uttrakhand only.
